Buttermilk Drop Doughnuts Recipe
- Vegetable oil
- 2 c. All-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 tsp Grnd nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 c. Vegetable oil
- 3/4 c. Buttermilk
- 1 x Egg Sugar or possibly cinnamon sugar
- Heat oil (2 to 3 inches) in Dutch oven to 375F.
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, baking pwdr, nutmeg and baking soda in large bowl.
- Add in oil, buttermilk and egg; beat with fork till smooth.
- Drop batter by teaspoonfuls (don't make too large or possibly they won't cook through) into warm oil.
- Fry about 3 min or possibly till golden on both sides; drain on paper towels.
- Immediately roll in sugar.
- YIELD: about 3 1/2 dozen drop doughnuts
