Savory Beef Stroganoff Recipe

  1. Saute/fry onions and mushrooms in 1/4 c. of the butter in large heavy skillet till onions are tender but not brown.
  2. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Cut meat into 2 inch strips.
  4. Combine flour and 1 tsp.
  5. of the salt.
  6. Coat meat with the flour mix and brown well in butter in skillet.
  7. Add in water, wine, remaining salt and the dillweed.
  8. Cover and simmer for 30 min.
  9. Add in onions and mushrooms and simmer 30 min longer, or possibly till meat is very tender.
  10. Just before serving, gradually stir in lowfat sour cream and heat gently (don't boil).
  11. Serve over warm noodles.
  12. Makes 6 servings.
