Apple Cranberry Crumb Pie Recipe
- 1 x purchased 9" deep-dish frzn pie shell unthawed Vanilla ice cream
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. golden sugar - (packed)
- 1/3 c. old-fashioned oats
- 3/4 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter - (1 stick) chilled, and cut into small pcs
- 4 lrg Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and cut into 3/4" pcs - (abt 5 c.)
- 1 can whole-berry cranberry sauce - (16 ounce)
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- Make Topping: Mix first 4 ingredients in medium bowl.
- Add in butter; rub in with fingertips till mix resembles coarse meal.
- Set aside.
- Make Filling: Place baking sheet in oven and preheat to 350 degrees.
- Toss apples, cranberry sauce, sugar and cornstarch in large bowl till well blended.
- Transfer apple-cranberry filling to frzn pie shell, mounding in center.
- Sprinkle topping over pie.
- Set pie on baking sheet in oven.
- Bake till apples are tender, juices bubble thickly and crust is golden brown, about 1 hour 10 min.
- Transfer to rack.
- Cold 15 min.
- Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.
- This recipe yields 8 servings.
