Miso Spaghetti with Asparagus and Ground Pork
- 180 to 200 grams Spaghetti
- 120 grams Ground pork
- 7 thin stalks Asparagus
- 1/2 small Onion (roughly chopped)
- 1 piece Ginger (grated)
- 1 1/2 tbsp Miso
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Sake
- 1 Salt (to cook the pasta)
- 1/2 tbsp Sesame oil
- Mix the ingredients together and set aside.
- Cut off the hard ends of the asparagus and slice diagonally into bite-sized pieces.
- Group the tips away from the rest of the asparagus pieces.
- Begin boiling the spaghetti in plenty of salted boiling water.
- Add sesame oil to a frying pan and heat over medium-low.
- Stir fry the ginger until fragrant.
- Add the ground pork and onion and stir fry until the meat is cooked through.
- Add the mixed ingredients to the pan and mix to coat everything with the seasoning.
- Remove about 5 tablespoons of the boiling water from the pasta pot and add it to the pan.
- 2-3 minutes before the spaghetti is done, add the asparagus stalks to the boiling spaghetti water.
- Throw in the asparagus tips a bit after that.
- Quickly strain the cooked spaghetti and asparagus and add them to the frying pan from Step 4.
- Toss to combine everything.
- All done.
