Extra Awesome Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 2 12 cups all-purpose flour
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 12 cup white sugar
- 1 cup cold salted butter, cut into cubes
- 2 large eggs
- 2 12 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt.
- Mix well with a wire whisk.
- In a large bowl use a mixer to blend the sugars at medium speed.
- Add the cold, cubed butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl as you go.
- Add eggs, vanilla and milk and mix at low to medium speed - just until blended.
- Do not overmix.
- Add the flour mixture 1 cup at a time, then add chocolate chips and blend at low speed until just mixed.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet, two inches apart.
- Press down dough with fingers to flatten out a bit.
- Bake 9 minutes until golden.
- After 5 minutes of baking, lightly tap cookie sheet and rotate sides.
- DO NOT overcook - even if they don't look done yet.
- Transfer cookies immediately to a cool surface with a spatula.
