Round Steak Sauerbraten Recipe

  1. Cut steak into 1 inch squares.
  2. Brown steak on all sides in warm fat in large skillet.
  3. Remove steak from skillet.
  4. Add in gravy mix, and water to skillet.
  5. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  6. Stir in remaining ingredients except noodles.
  7. Return steak to skillet, cover.
  8. Simmer for 1 hour and 30 min stirring occasionally.
  9. Remove bay leaf.
  10. Serve steak over warm buttered noodles.
  11. Yield: 5 to 6 servings.
