Beet Nut Bread

  1. Beat shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Blend in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in beets.
  4. Add combined dry ingredients; mix well.
  5. Stir in nuts.
  6. Pour into greased and floured 9x5" loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350'F.
  8. for 60 to 70 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan.
  10. Makes 1 loaf.
