Beef Winners Recipe
- 1 c. Prepared teriyaki marinade
- 1 sm Onion, minced
- 1/3 c. Honey
- 1/3 c. Orange juice
- 1 Tbsp. Minced fresh rosemary
- 1 Tbsp. Sesame oil
- 1 lrg Garlic clove, crushed
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper One 1 1/2 to 2 lb. beef flank steak
- In a medium bowl, combine the teriyaki marinade, onion, honey, orange juice, rosemary, sesame oil, garlic, and pepper; whisk till blended.
- Reserve 3/4 c. marinade in a small bowl; set aside.
- Using a sharp knife, lightly score both sides of the steak in a crisscross pattern.
- Add in the steak to the remaining marinade, turning to coat.
- Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 min, turning once.
- Remove the steak from the marinade; Throw away THE EXCESS MARINADE.
- Preheat the grill to medium.
- Grill the steak for 18 to 20 min for medium or possibly till desired doneness, turning once during grilling; baste occasionally with the reserved 3/4 c. marinade then pour any remainig marinade into a small suacepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Meanwhile, place the steak on a cutting board and cut diagonally across the grain into thin slices.
- Transfer to a serving platter and spoon the warm marinade over the slices, as desired.
- NOTE: Why not garnish this with orange slices and rosemary sprigs, just as the contest winner did!
