Number One Chop Suey

  1. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet.
  2. Brown pork and beef cubes on all sides over medium heat.
  3. Stir in beef broth, celery and onions.
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover.
  5. Simmer 15 minutes.
  6. Blend cornstarch, water, soy sauce and molasses.
  7. Stir into meat mixture.
  8. Bring to a boil and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  9. Mix in bean sprouts and water chestnuts; heat through.
  10. Serve over Oriental noodles.
  11. Garnish with chopped peanuts.
