Herman Cookies Recipe

• 1 1/2 c. flour
• 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
• 1/2 teaspoon each baking pwdr and baking soda
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1 c. packed brown sugar
• 1/2 c. shortening, room temperature
• 2 Large eggs
• 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 c. "Herman" starter
• 1/2 c. minced nuts (optional)
• Chocolate frosting (recipe follows) - optional

1. Oven at 350 degrees.
2. Bake 8-10 min.
