Garlicky Steak & Asparagus

  1. For rub, in a small bowl combine garlic, pepper, and salt.
  2. Sprinkle over both sides of meat and rub in with fingers.
  3. Place asparagus in a shallow dish and drizzle with oil.
  4. For sauce, in a medium skillet stir together broth and wine.
  5. Cook over high heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until mixture is reduced to 1/4 cup.
  6. Whisk in mustard and keep warm.
  7. Preheat broiler.
  8. Place meat on the unheated rack of a broiler pan.
  9. Broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat until desired doneness.
  10. Allow 8-10 minutes for medium-rare, 10-12 minutes for medium, turning once.
  11. Add asparagus the last 2 minutes of broiling.
  12. Spoon sauce on serving plate.
  13. Cut steak in half crosswise.
  14. Serve meat on sauce with Asparagus.
