Beef 'n Barley Dinner

  1. In a 4-quart saucepan or Dutch oven, brown ground beef.
  2. Add green pepper, onion and garlic.
  3. Cook until onion is tender.
  4. Drain.
  5. Add remaining ingredients.
  6. Bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat to low and cover.
  8. Simmer 45 to 50 minutes (15 to 20 minutes for quick barley), or until barley is tender, stirring occasionally.
