Mauna Kea Sunrise
- 1 slice of king's Hawaiian bread
- 2 eggs
- 12 cup milk
- 14 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 slices ham, shaved
- 1 teaspoon oil
- maple syrup
- powdered sugar
- 1 strawberry and parsley sprig (to garnish)
- In a bowl, whisk 1 egg.
- Then gradually add milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract.
- Cut a 2-inch hole in the center of the bread.
- Under medium heat, place oil in Teflon frying pan.
- Dip both sides of the bread into egg and milk mixture.
- Place the bread into the frying pan.
- Crack the other egg into the hole in the bread.
- Cook each side for one minute.
- Remove from heat.
- Lightly saute ham and place in the center of the French toast.
- Pour desired amount of maple syrup over French Toast.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar.
