Any Season Fruit Bowl

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, lime juice, anise and salt.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, cook for 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat; cover and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight.
  4. Combine fruit in a large bowl (I use a trifle bowl).
  5. Add dressing and toss to coat.
  6. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour (Actually it is much, much better if you make it at least one day ahead as the flavors mellow).
