Meatballs and Peppers Oriental
- 12 cup milk
- 13 cup grape nuts cereal
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (1 ounce) package mushroom gravy mix
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 34 cup dry red wine
- 1 cup water
- 12 onion, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, cut in strips
- 1 medium tomatoes, cut in wedges
- hot cooked rice
- In a mixing bowl, combine milk, grape nuts, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
- Let stand 10 minutes.
- Add ground beef and mix well.
- Shape into 15 meatballs.
- In a 10 inch skillet, brown meatballs on all sides.
- Remove to a platter; drain off excess fat from pan.
- In small bowl, combine gravy mix, cornstarch, wine and water.
- Pour mixture into skillet; cook and stir until mixture bubbles.
- Add meatballs and chopped onion.
- Simmer, covered, 15 minutes.
- Add green pepper; cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
- Add tomato and heat through.
- Serve over hot cooked rice.
