Chocolate Fudge with Pecans

  1. Melt chocolate over very low heat.
  2. Add milk and salt; stir well.
  3. Stir in sugar and bring to a full boil over medium heat.
  4. Continue to cook, stirring only once or twice, until mixture forms a soft ball in about 1/2 cup cold water; remove from heat.
  5. Add butter and vanilla and stir to blend well.
  6. Stir in pecans.
  7. Beat well with large wooden spoon until mixture begins to thicken, then pour quickly into a buttered pie plate.
  8. Refrigerate; cut into squares when chocolate fudge is set.
