Chocolate Drop Cookies

  1. Cream shortening.
  2. Gradually add sugar, beating at low speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg, chocolate and vanilla; beat well.
  4. Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, stirring well.
  5. Stir in pecans or walnuts.
  6. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls, about 1 1/2 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 12 minutes, or until done.
  8. Remove to wire racks.
  9. Frost with Chocolate-Coffee Frosting while still warm.
  10. Yields about 4 dozen cookies.
