How to Peel the Outer Skin of Chestnuts (My Mother's Version)
- Soak fresh chestnuts in water overnight.
- Peel off the hard base of the chestnut from the side with a knife.
- It's tricky, so be careful.
- Peel the rest of the outer shell in sections by pulling toward the top of the chestnut.
- It should look like this.
- Use the corner of the blade of your knife to peel the rest.
- It's easy, right?
