Granny's Apple Pie Recipe

  1. Pare, core and slice Granny Smith apples into a large bowl.
  2. Blend sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt together and mix with sliced apples.
  3. Line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry dough and fill with apple mix.
  4. Dot with butter.
  5. Adjust top crust and seal tightly.
  6. Brush melted butter over top crust, sprinkle with 1 Tbsp.
  7. sugar and cut 4 (1 inch) slits in top crust to let steam escape.
  8. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 1 hour and 20 min.
  9. Serve at room temperature with your favorite topping, ice cream, whipped topping, cheese, or possibly just as is!
