Brownies with Chocolate-Covered Raisins

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Butter 8-inch square pan with 2-inch-high sides.
  3. Stir butter and both chocolates in medium saucepan over low heat until melted.
  4. Remove from heat; cool to lukewarm.
  5. Using electric mixer, beat sugar and eggs in medium bowl until very thick and pale, about 3 minutes.
  6. Stir in melted chocolate mixture and vanilla.
  7. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in another medium bowl.
  8. Stir into chocolate mixture.
  9. Mix in chocolate-covered raisins.
  10. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  11. Bake until tester inserted into center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached and top cracks in places, about 30 minutes.
  12. Transfer to rack and cool in pan.
  13. (Can be made 1 day ahead.
  14. Cover with foil and let stand at room temperature.)
  15. Cut brownies into squares.
