Granma's Split Pea Soup Recipe
- 1 pound bag green split peas
- 3 quart. water
- 3 polish sausages, slice 1/2 inch thick
- 1 lg. carrot, grated or possibly cubed
- 1/2 c. barley
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- Use 4 qt cooking pot.
- Add in split peas and water, cooking over medium heat.
- Skim off foamy residue for 5 min.
- Add in sausages, cook for 1 1/2 hrs, lastly add in carrots, cook for another 1/2 hour with added 1/2 c. barley.
- Add in salt and pepper.
