Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies for One
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 14 cup bread flour
- 18 teaspoon kosher salt
- 18 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 12 tablespoons brown sugar
- 12 tablespoon egg
- 14 teaspoon egg yolk
- 34 teaspoon milk
- vanilla extract
- 14 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Melt the butter in a microwave safe plastic bowl.
- If you lightly put the lid on top, the butter will not make a mess of the inside of the microwave.
- Add the sugar and brown sugar to the melted butter and cream with a wooden spoon or fork.
- Add the egg, yolk, milk, and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, sift the flour, salt, and baking soda together.
- Add this to the butter mixture.
- Lastly stir in the chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough at least two hours or overnight.
- When your dough is chilled, preheat your oven to 375F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll about 4 tablespoons of dough (or 2 ounces if you want to weigh each one) into balls or use a #20 disher, and place on the cookie sheet.
- be sure to leave ample room between them, as they spread while baking.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a rack to cool.
- Store in an airtight container.
