Kabocha Squash Custard Puddings Decorated with Chocolate Characters for Halloween
- 300 grams Kabocha squash (after peeling and de-seeding)
- 200 ml Milk
- 70 grams Sugar
- 3 Whisked eggs
- 100 ml Heavy cream
- 1/2 tbsp Rum alcohol
- 1 dash Vanilla extract
- 1 For decoration whipped heavy cream (with sugar added)
- 1 Chocolate bar
- 1 White chocolate bar
- Make the kabocha squash puddings: Peel the kabocha squash, cut into large bite-sized pieces, and microwave until soft.
- Mash it up and pass it through a sieve.
- Add milk and sugar to the bowl, and microwave for an additional minute.
- Stir together until the sugar dissolves.
- Combined the beaten egg and heavy cream.
- Strain the mixture, add the rum and vanilla extract, and mix well with the kabocha squash puree from Step 1.
- Divide into individual pudding molds.
- Put the filled molds in a baking pan, add plenty of water in the pan around the molds, and bake at 140 C for about 30 minutes.
- Cool the puddings down and then chill them in the refrigerator.
- Decorate with the whipped heavy cream (with sugar added), top with the chocolate decorations and they're done.
- To make the chocolate characters: Draw your favorite characters on parchment paper .
- Use a toothpick to draw the characters with melted chocolate.
- Fill with a different colored chocolate.
- Let harden in the refrigerator, and they are done .
