Bourbon And Maple Bars Recipe
- 1 c. Unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 c. Unsalted butter softened
- 1 c. Light brown sugar packed
- 2 lrg Large eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 c. Maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp. Bourbon
- 1 c. Pecans or possibly walnuts minced
- 1 c. Confectioners' sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Maple sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Bourbon

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter a 13 x 9 inch baking pan.

- To make the Batter: Sift together the flour and bakng pwdr; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer till light.
- Gradually beat in the Large eggs and vanilla till blended.
- Combine the maple syrup and bourbon; add a slow, steady stream, beating gently untl blended.

- Stir in the flour mix till blended.
- Add in the pecans or possibly walnuts; stir to blend.

- Spread the batter in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 35 min, or possibly till the edges begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
- Cold on a wire rack, and glaze the bars while still hot.

- To make the Glaze: Shift the ocnfectioners' sugar into a small bowl.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the maple syrup and bourbon.
- Add in the liquids to the confectioners' sugar, stirring till smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the hot bar cookies, spreading it into a thin, even layer.
- Cold thoroughly before cutting into bars Makes 24 bars.
