Buttermilk Cornmeal Biscuits Recipe

  1. Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking pwdr, and soda in a large bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender till mix resembles coarse meal.
  2. Add in buttermilk; stir just till dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough 5 or possibly 6 times.
  4. Roll dough to 1/2" thickness; cut with a 2-1/2-inch biscuit cutter.
  5. Place on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
  6. Brush tops with egg white.
  7. Bake at 450 F for 12 min or possibly till golden brown.
