Family Favorite Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 375F (190C).
  2. Cream margarine and sweetener.
  3. Sift baking powder, salt, flour, then add alternately with skim milk to creamed mixture.
  4. Add almond extract, and beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, and fold in.
  5. Pour into 2 well-greased 9 inch layer pans.
  6. Bake about 30 minutes.
  7. Cool a few minutes, then remove from pans and cool further on wire racks.
  8. Frost.
