Saffron rice and ham
- 2 lb smoked ham
- 1 tbsp saffron flowers
- 1/2 tsp saffron threads
- 1 quart water
- 1 stick butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 cup long grain rice
- Cut the ham into bite sized pices melt half stick of butter in a pot add ham
- When the fat is rendered add water and saffron flowers and threads
- Bring to a boil add rice cook covered stir well when water craters appear stir once cover remove from heat undisturbed
