Crispy Cats

  1. Lightly butter 13x9-inch pan.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Melt butter in 4-quart saucepan over low heat.
  4. Add marshmallows; stir until completely melted.
  5. Stir in peanut butter.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Add cereal; stir until well coated.
  8. Pat cereal mixture evenly into prepared pan.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Cut cereal mixture with 3-inch cat-shaped cookie cutter.
  11. Place chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons shortening in 1-quart saucepan.
  12. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth.
  13. Dip top side of cat cutout in chocolate.
  14. Place peanut butter chips and 1 teaspoon shortening in another 1-quart saucepan.
  15. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth.
  16. Drizzle evenly over cats as desired.
  17. Let stand about 30 minutes until set.
  18. *Substitute 4 cups miniature marshmallows.
