Snow Peas With Mushrooms Recipe
- 1 pkg. snow peas (Chinese pea pods) (thawed and patted dry)
- 1/2 to 3/4 pound fresh sliced mushrooms or possibly 1 lg. jar sliced mushrooms
- 4 to 5 diagonal sliced fresh green onions (be sure to use the tops, also)
- 1 teaspoon Arrowroot, dissolved
- Mix: 1/3 c. soy sauce 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- (You may need to add in same amount again - depends on size and amount of mushrooms.)
- Use just sufficient veg.
- oil to keep vegetables from sticking in wok or possibly heavy skillet.
- Be sure cooking utensil is very warm.
- Stir fry mushrooms for 1 to 2 min (no more, they will finish cooking with rest of ingredients), adding small amount of sauce, next add in onion, stir fry 1 to 2 min, adding a little of the sauce, then add in snow peas, stir frying 1 minute only.
- Add in rest of sauce and arrowroot (arrowroot is for thickening).
- Remove from heat and serve.
- Compliments any meat.
- If you don't desire crispness of vegetables stir fry a few min longer.
- You may want to add in a healthy pinch of salt - but only a healthy pinch - soy sauce is very salty.
