Basic Cookie Mix Recipe

• 4 c. all purpose flour
• 2 c. sugar
• 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
• 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/3 c. shortening which does not require refrigeration

1. In large bowl, thoroughly stir together first 4 ingredients.
2. Cut in shortening till mix resembles coarse cornmeal.
3. Store in covered container up to 6 weeks at room temperature.
4. For longer storage, place in freezer.
5. To measure, lightly spoon mix into measuring c.; level with spatula.
6. Makes about 8 1/2 c..
