Holiday Oyster Stew Recipe
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. half & half
- 1 (12 ounce.) container fresh standard oysters, undrained
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Dash of warm sauce
- Heat 2 Tbsp.
- butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add in flour, stirring till smooth.
- Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually add in lowfat milk and half and half; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly till mix is bubbly.
- Add in oysters with liquid, 2 Tbsp.
- butter, salt and warm sauce.
- Reduce heat, and simmer, stirring constantly, 5 to 8 min or possibly till edges of oysters curl.
- Yield: about 5 1/2 c..
