Ranch Swiss Steak
- 2 lbs round steaks (3/4 inch thick)
- 12 cup flour
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1 12 teaspoons salt
- 12 teaspoon pepper
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 cup water
- Cut the steak into 6 pieces and pound the flour into the meat.
- Brown well in the shortening.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the garlic and onions.
- Continue cooking until the onion is tender and browned.
- Add paprika, onion salt and water.
- Cover and bake in 375* oven until meat is tender, about 2 hours.
- Add more water if necessary.
