Apple Cider Glazed Green Beans

  1. Put beans in a large microwave safe bowl, loosely cover bowl with plastic wrap and microwave on high for 5 minutes.
  2. Uncover and stir beans, then cover and microwave on high 4 to 7 minutes.
  3. Heat small skillet over medium low heat.
  4. Add olive oil and onion and cook until starting to caramelize, about 10 minutes.
  5. Add cider, raise heat to med-high and cook until liquid is reduced and syrupy.
  6. Remove beans from microwave and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Add to pan with onions and cider.
  8. Toss to coat.
