Meatloaf Haters Meatloaf
- 2 pounds Ground Sirloin Or Other Low Fat Ratio Meat
- 2 envelopes Lipton Mushroom Onion Soup Mix
- 1 whole Medium Onion, Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Garlic (or To Taste)
- 1 jar Chili Sauce
- Mix about 1/2 to 2/3 the jar of chili sauce and everything else together well.
- I have found that mixing with my hands is the best way to get it all mixed well.
- If you wanted to add veggies and stuff, go for it.
- I just dont do that.
- I do not add bread crumbs to my mixture either.
- Occasionally I will add an egg, but not usually.
- Depends on my mood.
- :O)
- Form a loaf and put on a shallow baking pan.
- I do not use a loaf pan because when I have, it tends to dry it out.
- I know that doesnt make sense, but it happens.
- Plus, you want the grease that comes from the meat as it cooks to drain off.
- Spread a little of the remaining chili sauce on top and cook at 350F for about 30 to 40 minutes.
- Depending on your loaf, cooking time may be more or less.
- I make my loaf so that a slice will cover a piece of bread (thinking about leftovers already).
- Once meat is done, spread remaining chili sauce over top, return to oven and leave in for about 5 minutes or so to heat the chili sauce.
- I have made this with two jars of chili sauce.
- When I do that, I use almost the entire jar, if not all, in the meat.
- Then, I spread quite a bit on top prior to cooking and let it mix with the grease.
- I use that for a gravy of sorts and have mashed potatoes with it.
- YUM!
- If you do this though, bear in mind that I use ground sirloin and there is very little fat that drains off.
