Lynn's Apple Pie Filling Canned Recipe

  1. In a large pan blend first 4 ingredients plus 1 tsp.
  2. salt.
  3. Stir in 10 c. water.
  4. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
  5. Add in lemon juice and food coloring.
  6. Pack apples into warm jars leaving 1 inch head space.
  7. Fill with warm syrup leaving 1/2 inch head space.
  8. Use spatula to help distribute syrup.
  9. Adjust lids.
  10. Process in boiling water bath.
  11. Pints - 15 min.
  12. Qts - 20 min.
  13. For pie - 1 qt filling per pie.
  14. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 min.
