Fudge Ribbon Cake
- 2 Tbsp. plus 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. plus 1 1/3 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
- In small mixer bowl, combine 2 tablespoons butter, cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, cornstarch, 1 egg, 3 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
- Beat at high speed until smooth and creamy. Combine remaining ingredients in a large mixer bowl.
- Blend well. Spread 1/2 batter into a sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Spoon cream cheese mixture over batter.
- Carefully spread other 1/2 of batter over the cream cheese.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 50 to 60 minutes but make first check at 40 minutes.
