Herbed Lentils And Rice Recipe
- 2 2/3 c. chicken broth
- 3/4 c. dry lentils
- 3/4 c. minced onions
- 1/2 c. brown rice
- 1/4 c. dry white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon dry basil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 4 ounce. Swiss cheese
- Combine chicken broth, lentils, onion, uncooked rice, wine and seasonings into 1 1/2 qt casserole.
- Stir in lentils.
- Shred half of cheese and mix in.
- Bake covered, 1 1/2 hrs at 350 degrees, stirring 2 times.
- Cut remaining cheese into strips and decorate top.
- Heat till melted.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings.
