Big Soft Pretzels

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. Lightly grease 2 large baking sheets.
  3. In a bowl dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  4. Blend in 2 eggs and oil.
  5. Add 5 cups hot roll mix.
  6. Stir well.
  7. Add more hot roll mix to make a soft dough.
  8. Knead approximately 5 minutes, until dough is smooth.
  9. Roll dough into ropes about 1/2-inch in diameter and 18 to 24-inches long.
  10. Form into pretzels.
  11. (For sticks cut dough into 5 to 6-inch lengths.)
  12. Place on prepared baking sheets.
  13. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.
  14. Bake immediately 12 to 15 minutes, until brown and crisp.
