Italian Pasta Casserole
- 2 cups spiral shaped pasta
- 34 lb ground turkey
- 1 cup mushroom, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
- 13 cup tomato paste
- 34 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 12 teaspoon chili powder
- 12 teaspoon fennel seed
- 14 teaspoon oregano
- 18 teaspoon salt
- 18 teaspoon garlic powder
- 18 teaspoon thyme
- 18 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Brown turkey and onions over medium heat, adding mushrooms about halfway through cooking.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste, and spices to the pan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
- Mix pasta and tomato mixture.
- In a greased 2 qt casserole layer half the pasta mixture then half the cheese.
- Repeat layers.
- Bake, covered, 20-25 minutes.
