Blueberry Buckle
- 3/4 c. butter or oleo
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 1/3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 1/2 c. fresh blueberries, cleaned and washed
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- In a large bowl, cream 1/2 cup butter.
- Mix in 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg; mix well.
- Sift in 2 cups of flour, baking powder and salt, adding alternately with milk.
- Spoon into a greased shallow 9 x 9-inch pan.
- Distribute berries evenly over dough.
- Combine remaining 1/4 cup sugar and 1/3 cup flour.
- Add cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Cut remaining butter into mixture.
- Break into large crumbs and sprinkle over blueberries.
- Bake in preheated 375u0b0 oven for 50 minutes, or until done.
