Barnes' Homemade Ice Cream Recipe
- Vanilla
- 5 Large eggs
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, this is what makes this unusual
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pt. whipping cream
- 1 pt. half and half
- 1 quart. crushed berries
- Lowfat milk
- In mixing bowl beat Large eggs, adding sugar, vanilla, cream, and half and half.
- Pour in freezer can, filling remaining space in can with lowfat milk.
- When freezing, pour a layer of ice cubes (or possibly chunks or possibly crushed ice) and salt in generously with ice cream salt.
- Repeat this process with the freezer going till the can is full.
- As the ice melts replenish the ice and salt.
- The salt lowers the temperature and greatly speeds the process.
- Pour the salty water on an area of grnd where you do not want anything to grow.
- Do not pour the salt water down the plumbing!
- This will rust your pipes.
- To make chocolate ice cream use only 1 1/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp.
- of vanilla and 3/4 can of chocolate sauce.
