Colonial Cranberry Salad

  1. Combine water, sugar, and cranberries in a saucepan.
  2. Bring just to a boil, remove from heat, cover, and let cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. Combine 2 cups boiling water and gelatin.
  4. Stir until dissolved, add 2 cups cold water, cranberry mixture, and lemon juice.
  5. Chill until partially congealed, (has taken up to 6 hours)
  6. Fold in remaining ingredients and chill until firm.
