Candied Sweet Potatoes

• 6 each sweet potatoes, or yams
• 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
• 1 1/2 cups water cold
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

1. Peel the potatoes and cut in slices 1/2 inch thick.
2. Lay in an iron skillet and add the remaining ingredients.
3. Cover and bake at 350F (180C) for 40 minutes.
4. Uncover and continue baking for 30 minutes.
