Vampiro

  1. In a cocktail shaker: combine tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and hibiscus juice with ice and shake well.
  2. Strain into 2 chilled martini glasses and garnish as desired.
  3. 6 cups water
  4. 1 1/2 cups dried hibiscus flowers, also known as sorrel
  5. 3-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
  6. 1/2 cup sugar
  7. In a large saucepan combine the water, flowers, and ginger.
  8. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
  9. Add sugar and stir until dissolved then strain through a fine strainer.
  10. Let juice cool and then chill in refrigerator until needed.
  11. Serving Suggestions: This juice is great alone or mixed with other juices or cocktails.
  12. Yield: approximately 7 cups
