Bette Hagman's Maple Chicken
- 6 boneless chicken breast halves
- salt
- pepper
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 12 cup fruit or 12 cup white vinegar
- 12 cup ketchup
- 14 cup brown sugar
- cooked rice, to serve

- Preheat oven to 325.
- 2.)
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Place skin side down in a 9" x 13" pan.
- 3.)
- In a small bowl, combine the syrup, vinegar, ketchup, and brown sugar and pour over the chicken.
- 4.)
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 1/2 hours.
- 5.)
- Turn chicken and bake, uncovered for 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes to moisten.
- 6.)
- Pour off the sauce but save it as a gravy to serve over the chicken and rice.
