Sachertorte Cookies

  1. Cream butter and instant pudding until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg.
  3. Gradually add flour, blend until smooth.
  4. Form balls of cookie dough and roll in sugar.
  5. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Press thumb into center of each cookie.
  7. Bake at 325 for 15-18 minutes.
  8. Remove from baking sheet immediately place on wire racks to cool.
  9. Spoon 1/2 tsp jam into thumbprint on cookie.
  10. In small microwave safe bowl, place chocolate chips and butter.
  11. Microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds, stirring, chips and butter may need to be melted a little more watch carefully as to not burn.
  12. Spoon over jam filled cookies.
  13. Chill then serve.
