Quick and Easy Pasta
- 1 (16 ounce) box penne pasta
- 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen italian style meatballs (optional)
- 1 (16 ounce) jar Classico tomato and basil pasta sauce
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons pesto sauce
- 12 large onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 lb mushroom, sliced
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, separated
- italian seasoning
- salt and pepper
- Bring water to a boil in pasta pot.
- Add salt.
- Cook pasta as directed on package.
- Heat one tablespoon of the olive oil in stock pot.
- Add onion, garlic, peppers, and then mushrooms.
- Sautee vegetables until tender.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Add frozen mushrooms and heat through.
- Then add pasta sauce, tomato sauce and pesto.
- Stir and heat through.
- When pasta is al dente, drain and toss with the other tablespoon of olive oil and Italian seasoning.
- Add to sauce.
- Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors combine.
- Serve.
