Make Your Own Energy Bars
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 12 cup whole wheat flour
- 12 cup grape nuts cereal
- 12 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 beaten egg
- 13 cup applesauce
- 14 cup honey
- 14 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 16 ounces mixed dried fruit (or dried fruit cut up)
- 14 cup sunflower seeds
- 14 cup chopped walnuts
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Line an 8x8x2 inch baking pan with aluminum foil.
- Spray foil with nonstick cooking spray.
- Set pan aside.
- In a large bowl combine oats, flour, grape nuts cereal and ginger.
- Add egg, applesauce, honey, brown sugar and oil; mix well.
- Stir in fruit bits, sunflower seeds and walnuts.
- Spread mixture evenly in prepared pan.
- Bake 30-35 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- Use edges of foil to lift from pan.
