Royal Walnut Cookies Recipe

  1. Cream butter with mace, vanilla, lemon peel, and juice.
  2. Add in sugar till light and fluffy.
  3. Add in sieved egg yolk, beating thoroughly.
  4. Fold in 1/2 c. of walnuts, then fruit.
  5. Stir in sufficient flour to make stiff dough.
  6. Shape dough into 2 - 2 1/2 inch rolls; roll in walnuts till coated.
  7. Wrap in foil and refrigeratetill hard.
  8. (I make 4 recipes and freeze for quick cookies all year.)
  9. Cut rolls into thin slices (while frzn).
  10. Place on cookie sheet.
  11. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  12. Cold thoroughly before storing.
