California Oki Burger Recipe mar52
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 quarter pound ground sirloin
- 2/3 cup thinly sliced onions... real thin
- salt and pepper to taste
- one hamburger bun
- 1 tablespoon Sriacha Sauce
- 1 tablespoon orange marmelade
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 slice American cheese
- 1 handful shredded lettuce
- 2 slices fresh tomato
- pickle slices to garnish
- Heat a cast iron pan with the 2 tablespoon vegetable oil.
- smash theburger patty on to a hot cast iron pan and smash the thinly sliced onions into the top of it.
- Cook a minute to set the burger.
- Mash the onions again in to the burger and flip it on to the onions.
- Let them cook until golden brown.
- Flip back on to the burger side to finish the burger to you liking.
- Salt and pepper to taste at this point.
- Flip one last time back on to the onion to cook them so that some are almost black and crisp, but not burned.
- Toast the bun in the same skillet at this point making sure its a little crispy.
- In a small bowl mix the Sriacha Sauce, Orange Marmelade and honey.
- Slather on to the bottom of the bun.
- Top with the onion burger, (onions up) your slice of American Cheese, tomatoes and bun top.
- Garnish burger or plate with thin pickle slices and...
